Sir Moosa as a business was launched in 2004.

After a period of three years during which Linda made samoosa strips and samoosas for friends and family only.

In 2004 a lady named Mandy called out of nowhere. She was running three canteens. One in the Lion Match complex on Umgeni Road. One at Conlog on Brickfield Road and one at the newly renamed University of Kwazulu Natal. And she needed samoosas supplied to all three every week. We took that on as a challenge and knocked it out the park.

A few months into the relationship, Mandy called from a retail facility on Umgeni Road, asking if Linda could supply samoosa samples to the owner of that store. She is a fresh veg supplier to hotels, restaurants and takeaways across the city. And she wanted to start supplying all her clients with unfried samoosas. 

We took on this challenge as well, despite Linda having a 2-year-old daughter that needed full-time care. 

Mandy has since closed all her canteens, but the veg supplier has been supplying restaurants, hotels and caterers our samoosas for the last 18 years. 

In addition, we have developed a plethora of reseller clients from all over the Durban metro as far as Chatsworth, Pinetown, Bluff and Hillcrest. We also have families who come from Gauteng to buy samoosas for personal consumption in the tens of dozens.
